Veteran Human Resources/Staff Support

Human Resource Staff Support

V2B strives to be a veteran owned organization putting veterans to work. The V2B Team – led by a veteran – aims to honor our nation’s veterans by ensuring the highly trained, experienced, and motivated men and women of our Services find the career opportunities in the communities and workplaces they protected through their service and sacrifice.

Your Workforce

V2B understands the challenges of matching the best workforce with a company’s needs and how that impacts on your company’s performance. We bring an exceptional talent pool and recruiting capability to source veteran personnel who have the experience and ability to meet or exceed the tasks, subtasks, and activities identified in your workforce needs. Our program can be tailored locally, regionally, or on a national basis.

Veteran Hiring Strategy

If you are looking for ways to augment your work force with veterans, our approach compliments and supports your existing human resource infrastructure by developing a Veteran Hiring Strategy. We will analyze your requirements and forecasts, develop a pool of qualified candidates, conduct required screening and vetting and help you determine the most qualified matches. Our process is a “turnkey” solution that assists your team with on-boarding and transition and helps your company develop a welcoming, inclusive workplace for veterans with a goal towards long-term retention. Examples include peer-to-peer and vet-to-vet mentorship programs, creating a culturally sensitive new hire orientation program, and establishing your company and processes as veteran friendly.

V2B uses well-known, widely used recruitment tools that produce talent with prior federal agency experience. In addition to traditional sources, we use our extensive network of Veteran Service Organization (VSOs), Service transition programs, and knowledge of federal veteran assistance initiatives to develop a pool of qualified candidates.

Program Assistance

We help you navigate the numerous programs in the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Labor that are designed to assist with training and veteran hiring. Our approach to veteran talent acquisition will help your company receive the most benefit from numerous initiatives to include the Veterans Opportunity to Work (VOW) to Hire Act, the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VRE) Program and the Workers Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC). This approach increases our success in finding you candidates whose abilities, work ethic, and professional skills align with your company’s goals.

Why Veterans in Your Workforce

As numerous publications from Forbes to the Army Times have noted, veterans are one of the best sources for an experienced and talented workforce. From leadership readiness at every level, composure and creativity under pressure, to a big picture understanding and relentless attention to detail, veterans increase the efficiency, stability, and reliability of your workforce. In addition to improved workforce productivity and decreased attrition, hiring veterans improves your company’s bottom line. As the Department of Labor noted, veterans bring:

Accelerated learning curves: Veterans have the proven ability to learn new skills and concepts. In addition, they can enter your workforce with identifiable and transferable skills, proven in real-world situations.
Leadership: The military trains people to lead by example as well as through direction, delegation, motivation, and inspiration. Veterans understand the practical ways to manage behaviors for results. They also know the dynamics of leadership as part of both hierarchical and peer structures.
Teamwork: Veterans understand how genuine teamwork grows out of a responsibility to one’s colleagues. Military duties involve a blend of individual and group productivity. They also necessitate a perception of how groups of all sizes relate to each other and to achieving an overarching objective.
Diversity and inclusion in action: Veterans successfully work side-by-side with individuals of diverse race, gender, geographic origin, ethnic background, religion, and economic status as well as mental, physical, and attitudinal capabilities.
Efficient performance under pressure: Veterans understand the rigors of tight schedules and limited resources. They have developed the capacity to accomplish priorities on time, under tremendous stress. They know the critical importance of staying with a task until it is done right.
Respect for procedures: Veterans have gained a unique perspective on the value of accountability. They can grasp their place within an organizational framework, becoming responsible for subordinates’ actions to higher supervisory levels. They know how policies and procedures enable an organization to exist and succeed.
Technology and globalization: Because of their experiences in the service, veterans are often aware of international and technical trends pertinent to business and industry. They can bring the kind of global outlook and technological savvy that all enterprises of any size need to succeed.
Integrity: Veterans know what it means to do “an honest day’s work.” Prospective employers can take advantage of a track record of integrity, judgment, and the importance of protecting classified, or business proprietary information.
Conscious of health and safety standards: Thanks to extensive training, veterans are aware of health and safety protocols both for themselves and the welfare of others. On a company level, their awareness and conscientiousness translate into protection of employees, property, and materials.
Triumph over adversity: In addition to dealing positively with the typical issues of personal maturity, veterans have frequently triumphed over great adversity. They likely have proven their mettle in mission critical situations demanding endurance, stamina, and flexibility.
